Wow. Just… wow. What an amazing, wonderful weekend. It truly was the best possible thing to happen to me at the best time. Rhinebeck rocked!
I just got back this evening (we decided before going down that we would avoid starting our 8 hour drive home at 5pm), and I’m tired and a little sad that it’s over, but none the less, over all very happy.
There are photos and stories to share, but for now I’ll leave you with this from Wooly Buns. That’s me in behind my friend Su (Wendy, I’m sorry you’re not in that one!). I’ll tell you all about it, and the haul that came home with us, as soon as I get a moment.
For now? Bed and sleep. It will be wonderful. G’nite!

Yes, that’s right, I’m going to Rhinebeck! It’s the first time I’ve been able to go, and I can’t tell you how excited I am!
I have known for a couple of weeks, and as rediculous as it sounds, I haven’t had two minutes to sit down and gush about it here on the blog.
All that busy-ness also means that I haven’t been able to get my version (not designed by me, I hasten to add) of the Rhinebeck Sweater done in time. I chose to knit Eris by the very talented Girl From Auntie. You may remember my love affair with Rogue… Thing is, I’m not even sure that the 8 hour drive down to Rhinebeck will afford me enough knitting time to finish it. This is where I’m at:

All that cabling on 3.25mm needles is a time eater! Or maybe it’s because I couldn’t quite commit the cable crosses to memory… Whenever I got to an unusual cable cross in the chart I had to flip to the chart key at the end to remember what I was supposed to do. And I have to admit that I’m not entirely sure that I have executed them properly. Hmm… Once the collar was done and the straight stocking stitch began I was sure that I’d be flying along on 4.5mm’s. Here again, there’s a time eating thing going on with the raglan increases.

They’re cabled, which I love, but for some reason my usually zippy knitting on stocking stitch is not so zippy. Also, being the neurotic, detail oriented knitter that I am, I’m wondering a little about the excecution of my cabled increases, since they don’t look so cable-y on the ones twisting to the right. Especially when you put them next to the non increase cables… Maybe I’ll get some feedback while I’m there.
Well, you may not see me wearing Eris this weekend, but at least you’ll see me there!! Too bad I didn’t get going in time to play Bingo…
